Born in Agona Kwanyako, a small town in the Central Region of Ghana, I am the second born son among my four siblings. I spent most of my early life in Agona Nyakrom, where I had my basic and secondary education.
I had my basic education in ADC Primary B and ADC Junior High School in Agona Nyakrom between 1989 and 1998. I later continued to Nyakrom Senior High School where I pursued a program in General Arts. I developed keen interest in Economics at during my time in senior high school. I was one of the privileged people among my mates to get admission into the university. I graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a first class honours in BA Economics and Geography. Currently, I am a graduate of the School of Oriental and African Studies where I obtained a postgraduate degree in Development Studies (SOAS).
My career path started in September 2001 when I accepted my first appointment as a classteacher in Princeton Preparatory school in Agona Nyakrom. In January 2002, I resigned from my post and got another appointment with Greenfield Preparatory school in Agona Swedru where I worked as a classteacher until September 2002 when I got admission into the university. In May 2005, I had the chance to work as a Field Officer in an internship with World Vision Ghana. After my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work as a Teaching and Research Assistant with the Department of Geography and Rural Development of KNUST from September 2006 to August 2007. My work with the department was part my obligatory and statutory service to my nation, Ghana. I got a month contract in May 2007 to work as a Research Assistant with Planning and Management Consult to undertake a beneficiary assessment of community based rural development projects. After completing my national service, I got an appointment to provide direct sales services for Barclays Bank of Ghana as a Sales Executive in September 2007. I discharged my duties dispassionately until June 2008 when I had to part with job to get ready to pursue my masters at SOAS. During my studies at SOAS, I worked with the Water for Africa Project as a research intern between November 2008 and March 2009.
Having gone through these varied experiences, I have the ambition of developing a career in policy
research and analyses in the area of political economy, gender studies and project management. The experiences and skills gained from these and my preparedness to learn should enable me to
achieve this ambition.
